Template XML dan Converter Excel ke XML: Coretax DJP Guide
Where to get the official DJP template XML dan converter Excel ke XML for Coretax, how to fill and export the Excel files, and how to avoid common import errors.
“Template XML dan converter Excel ke XML” is the set of official files that Indonesia’s tax authority, Direktorat Jenderal Pajak (DJP), publishes so taxpayers can prepare bulk data in Excel and turn it into the XML format that the Coretax system imports. You download them for free from the official DJP page, fill in the Excel file, export it to XML, and upload that XML in Coretax.
Below is how the files fit together, the steps to use them, and the mistakes that cause most failed imports. Details are as of October 2026; DJP updates these files regularly, so always check the official page before you start.
Why Coretax needs XML instead of Excel or CSV
Coretax, DJP’s core tax administration system, accepts bulk imports as XML files. That replaced the CSV and PDF-style imports many businesses were used to from older applications such as e-Faktur and e-Bupot, according to DDTCNews and Pajak.com.
XML is strict: element names, order and codes must match DJP’s schema exactly. Writing it by hand is error-prone, which is why DJP ships two kinds of files:
| File type | What it is | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Template XML | A sample XML file showing the exact structure Coretax expects | Developers or accounting software that generates XML directly |
| Converter Excel ke XML | An Excel workbook with a built-in XML map, plus fill-in instructions and reference sheets | Most finance and admin staff working in Excel |
| Converter application (some forms) | A separate converter program for specific annual return attachments | Taxpayers filing SPT Tahunan PPh Badan attachments |
Which documents have templates
The download page groups files by document type. Based on reporting from DDTCNews and Pajak.com, coverage includes:
- Bukti potong PPh 21/26, such as BPMP, BP21, BP26, BPA1 and BPA2
- Bukti potong unifikasi, such as BPPU and BPNR
- Faktur pajak (output VAT invoices)
- Lampiran SPT Tahunan, including the depreciation and amortization list
One DDTCNews explainer counted 31 converter files at the time it was written. The number has changed since then as DJP added and revised forms, so treat it as a snapshot, not the current total.
How to use the converter Excel ke XML, step by step
The exact sheet names differ by form, but the workflow is the same across sources.
1. Download the latest version
- Open the official page: pajak.go.id/reformdjp/coretax/template-xml-dan-converter-excel-ke-xml.
- Find the section for your document (for example faktur pajak, BP21, or the SPT Badan attachments).
- Download the Excel converter, and the template XML if you want to compare structure.
- Delete older copies on your computer so nobody on the team fills in an outdated version.
2. Turn on the Developer tab in Excel
The export command lives on Excel’s Developer tab, which is hidden by default. Microsoft’s support article notes you need it enabled before exporting XML.
- In Excel, go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
- Tick Developer in the right-hand list.
- Click OK.
Use desktop Excel on Windows. Microsoft states that XML map features are not available in Excel for Mac or Excel for the web.
3. Fill in the data sheet
- Read the instructions sheet (often called “Petunjuk Pengisian”) first.
- Enter your rows in the data sheet, usually named DATA.
- Use the Ref sheet(s) for codes such as tax types, tax object codes, rates or asset codes. Copy codes from there rather than typing them from memory.
- Do not rename, delete or reorder sheets and columns. The XML map is tied to them.
4. Export to XML
- Click any cell inside the mapped table.
- Go to Developer > Export.
- If Excel asks which XML map to use, pick the one for your form.
- Choose a file name, keep the .xml extension, and click Export.
Microsoft documents two quirks worth knowing. Exports through XML maps are limited to 65,536 rows, and longer data is cut off. Also, if your column headings differ from the mapped element names, Excel writes the element names, which is fine for Coretax because the map already uses DJP’s names.
5. Import the XML in Coretax
- Log in to Coretax.
- Open the import menu for the relevant module. For output invoices, sources describe the path e-Faktur > Pajak Keluaran > Impor Data; other documents have their own import entry.
- Select your XML file and upload it.
- Check the import status. If rows fail, fix them in Excel, export again and re-upload.
Special case: SPT Tahunan PPh Badan attachments
Annual corporate return attachments have seen the most changes in 2026.
- Depreciation and amortization template update. DDTCNews reported on 5 March 2026 that DJP revised the Excel templates for the depreciation and amortization list. For companies this is Lampiran 9; for individuals who keep books it is Lampiran 3C.
- April 2026 release. Ortax reported that as of 7 April 2026, DJP provided updated XML templates, Excel files and a converter application for SPT Tahunan PPh Badan. Another Ortax article gives 8 April 2026 for the Lampiran 9 format update, so the exact date differs slightly between reports.
- Converter program. For these attachments, Ortax describes a zip download in which the Excel file is processed by an application named KonverterXML_SPTBadan.exe, rather than only the Excel Developer > Export route. Follow the instructions bundled with that download.
- Sheet layout changed. Earlier Lampiran 9 converters split depreciation and amortization across separate sheets with separate reference sheets; a newer version uses a single Data sheet. If your team kept a filled-in copy of the old file, re-enter the data in the new one.
Common import errors and how to fix them
Ortax’s troubleshooting article and the other sources point to the same handful of causes:
- Outdated template. Coretax validates against the current schema. Re-download from pajak.go.id whenever an import fails without a clear reason.
- Codes not in the reference sheet. Asset codes, tax object codes and similar fields must match the Ref sheet exactly.
- Deleted sheets. Removing a sheet you do not need (for example the amortization sheet when you have no amortized assets) can break the import. Leave it empty instead.
- Too many rows in one file. Because Excel’s XML map export stops at 65,536 rows, split very large datasets into several files.
- Confusing messages after success. Ortax notes that the message “Please input at least one asset on L9 Form” can still appear after a successful Lampiran 9 import. Check the imported data in the form before assuming the upload failed.
Practical tips for teams
- Keep one master copy. Store the current converter in a shared folder with the download date in the file name, and archive older versions.
- Separate data from the converter. Keep your source data in your own workbook or accounting system, then paste values into a fresh converter each period. That makes switching to a new DJP version painless.
- Test with a few rows first. Export and import a small batch before pushing a full month of invoices or withholding slips.
- Use official channels only. Download converters from pajak.go.id, and if you use third-party software, choose a provider DJP lists as an official partner. Never share your Coretax login with anyone to “convert” files for you.
Note on research: the DJP download page and several Indonesian tax news sites could not be opened directly while preparing this guide, so details above are based on the published summaries and search listings of those pages. If anything on the official page differs, the official page wins.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still upload CSV files to Coretax like I did in e-Faktur? +
No. Coretax uses XML as its import format for bulk data, replacing the CSV-based imports of the older applications. You can keep preparing data in Excel, but you need to export it to XML with DJP's converter files before uploading.
Does the Excel to XML converter work on a Mac or in Excel for the web? +
The Excel converters rely on Excel's XML Map and Developer > Export features, which Microsoft says are only available in the Windows desktop version of Excel. On a Mac or in the browser you will need access to a Windows PC with desktop Excel, or another method DJP officially supports.
Why does Coretax reject my XML file even though the export worked? +
The most common causes are an outdated template, codes that do not match the reference sheet, or deleted sheets the converter expects. Download the current version from pajak.go.id, check every code against the Ref sheet, and export again.
Is there a cost for the DJP templates and converters? +
No. The templates and converter files are published free of charge by Direktorat Jenderal Pajak on its official website. You do not need a paid tool to create a valid Coretax XML file, although some certified tax software providers offer their own integrations.
